I am Light 4 — for me this song represents the holy idea of point 4, “Holy Origin” — I am a being always being reborn freshly in this moment. I am not tied to any past version of me, anything that happened to me, anything that I used to think I was. “I am not the pieces of the brokenness inside,” etc. A 4 Enneagram teacher I respect thinks this is more of a 9 message. “I am light” is a balmy harmonious sentiment that does have a 9-ish flavor. As my friend put it, “Even in my healthiest moments, I‘ve never ever wanted to be light. The idea is disgusting to me.” I still think it’s an excellent representation of 4-ness because the message of the song is about leaving behind what I think is “me” and discovering myself as a being without artificial identity markers, which is certainly a central part of the 4’s spiritual journey.
